BPM have extensive experience of working within utilities both in the UK and abroad, particularly in the water industry and specifically in waste water treatment. However we also have experience working within the energy and telecommunications industries.

Our experience within the utilities sector has been predominantly working on the commercial side of projects acting as commercial consultants and quantity surveyors, administrating the finances of various different projects. HoweverBPM have also provided services such as Bid Writing, Estimating and Site engineering to utilities projects.

Project: Hull Pumping Station

Summary: BPM provided commercial management assistance to the existing project team; the core elements of our involvement being the production of a letter of intent, development of IChemE Yellow Book sub-contracts and main contract negotiations.

Project: Kafr-el-Sheikh

Location: Egypt
Client: Earthtech
Service: Commercial Administration
Approx Value: 7 million Euros
Summary: In 2003, BPM's client Earthtech, were awarded the contract to supply 17 sites in Egypt with the equipment to install new water treatment stations however, communications broke down which led to the client's failure to be paid as per the contract. The chartered team at BPM were appointed to assist the client with establishing the requirements they had to fulfil their obligation under the supply contract. BPM also assisted by undertaking cost versus value exercises and producing contemporaneous invoices for the supplied equipment. Furthermore, BPM provided illustrations and computation to assist our client's claim to re-instate disallowed costs and produced the final account. This is an on-going project and BPM continues to provide our client with high level contract administration advice.

Project: Wind Turbine Installation Works

Summary:BPM carried out a commercial review of the terms and conditions the sub-contractor had with their client and produced a detailed report of the findings to assist them in pricing a tender.

Project: Avondale Waste Treatment

Location: Falkirk, Scotland

Client: Oaktech Ltd.

Service: Quantity Surveying / Estimating

Approx Value: £6 million

Summary: BPM were appointed to commercially analyse and appraise a contractor's submission for a proposed waste treatment plant at Avondale Waste Treatment Facility. Our findings were then presented in a report to allow the client to verify the submission's value for money.

Project: Anglian Water AMP Capital Programme Partners

Location: Milton Keynes

Client: P Bird & Sons

Service: PQQ/ Bid Writing Assistance

Summary: Our client contacted the BPM bid writing team as they needed an experienced commercial team with both sales and writing skills to help them put together a professional response which would enable them to become a listed supplier for Anglian Water's Capital Programme Partners. BPM's bid writers reviewed their current response and then re-drafted accordingly, suggesting additional content, and when complete, proof-read and finalised the document. This was then sent back to the client for their review and submission. In this instance, time was of the essence and our client needed a quick turn-around on the document which BPM enabled them to achieve
