BPM bid writers win high value contract for client
AW Hardy & Co Ltd, Southend-On-Sea based contractors and clients of BPM have recently been awarded a £1.67 million schools development contract, following successful guidance from our bid writing team. With BPM's assistance, AW Hardy won a tightly fought bid; they increased their average technical score at the first stage of the tender, giving them the opportunity to progress to the second round and subsequently win the contract following a highly scored second submission. Feedback from the local council indicated that not only were AW Hardy's technical scores high, but their quality assessment section beat all other competition. Despite possessing the technical capability, AW Hardy had struggled to present these capabilities when tendering for new projects and turned to BPM for professional assistance. For an investment of less than 0.25% of the overall project value, BPM's bid writers have helped their clients' score consistently high marks in their tenders and most importantly, secure a £1million+ contract and several months work. Areas covered were: Reactive and Planned Maintenance, Winter Service, Civil Engineering, Structures, Safety Defects and Street Scenes. Quality and Performance were also key areas covered in the tender. How to settle a dispute...the BPM way BPM's client, Ms Cordwell, had recently purchased a house with the intention of refurbishing the property to a high standard. A contractor had been appointed and work commenced on the refurbishment, however on nearing completion, it became evident that the finished work was of an unsatisfactory quality and required rectification. After seeking advice, Ms Cordwell appointed BPM Professional Services to act as an independent Quantity Surveyor in order to help settle the dispute. Following an initial meeting with our client, it was apparent that the contractor had been overpaid for the works completed to date and assistance was required with this matter. BPM carried out a full survey of the property and provided a complete breakdown of all works completed to date and their cost, along with a measured estimate of the cost of all rectification works. This information was then collated in a detailed report and presented to the client and contractor along with a settlement proposal. By providing this information, the dispute was settled amicably without the need for any further action. For information on BPM can help with building disputes, please visit www.bpmgroupuk.com
