Summary:

BPM assisted Enterprise with the submission of a tender return to Somerset County Council Highways Works. The contract was for the maintenance, improvement and construction of Somerset's highways, including the design of certain works, maintenance of non-highway vehicles and other related highway services. The contract type was NEC Term Service Contract (options A and C to be used during the contract), amended to reflect the nature of the work. Working for the Commercial Director, BPM's role was to provide commercial assistance during the tender period. This involved carrying out a commercial review of the contract terms and conditions, producing discount and cost models and using in-house software to calculate return values and spend profiles based on alternative work volumes offered to Enterprise by the client. BPM also dealt with, and assimilated data from, the potential subcontractors Enterprise would use and used this to produce comparison reports between the companies. Our role also included attending and providing input at risk and progress meetings and producing tender queries for submission to the client.
